OUR KERATIN

WHY WE USE ITALIAN KERATIN AND WHAT IT ACTUALLY IS:

”Italian keratin" is a high-quality, synthetic polymer glue used primarily in hair extensions, often marketed as a premium adhesive for its durability and heat resistance. Chemically, it is a refractory polymer, typically a polyamide-based resin, distinct from natural keratin, which is a fibrous protein found in hair, nails, and skin. Unlike natural keratin, which contains high levels of cysteine (7–13%) for disulfide bonding,

Italian keratin glue is formulated with synthetic monomers, often including polyamide chains with amide linkages (-CONH-), providing strength and flexibility. It is classified as a thermoplastic polymer, meaning it softens and becomes pliable when heated, allowing it to be molded into bonds for hair extensions. Italian keratin has a melting point of 180–200°C (356– 392°F), achieved using a heat fusion tools or melting pot, enabling it to form strong, non-slip bonds that withstand high temperatures, humidity, and wet conditions like swimming without softening.

Available in forms like clear, black, or brown beads, granules, or rectangular shapes, it is odorless, non-allergenic, and safe for hair, causing no damage when applied correctly. Its superior adhesion and longevity (lasting 3–6 months) compared to standard keratin glues make it a preferred choice in the hair extension industry, offering seamless, durable bonds that blend naturally with hair.
